Saturday night was our church Christmas party.
It was during a blizzard.
This pleased me because, surely, the blizzard would keep most people home and then there would be
- a short line to see Santa
- more dessert for me
Now you know what kind of person I really am.
Turns out a lot of people came. Which is good because it was lovely party. And it would have been a bit lonely without the company. Also, I got a big piece of chocolate cake and the line to see Santa was quite reasonable. So no worries.
Speaking of Santa, here is the obligatory picture of David and Saint Nick.
And one more for good measure.
Looks like Santa was doing most of the talking. I'm okay with that.
Here is a picture of Mary NOT with Santa. She finds zipping up her coat to be a more appealing activity than sitting on a strange man's lap. I'm okay with that too.
Then we went home.
I liked the feeling of being with the most important people in my life all together in a safe, cozy all-wheel-drive capsule filled with Christmas songs and warm breath as the dark, snowy storm raged outside.
It was a good evening.
