This summer has included lots and lots of fun playdates.
And, yes, they are "dates," planned in advance and marked on the calendar. We don't live in the kind of idyllic situation where my kids' best friends live next door and the neighborhood children gather in the evenings to ride bikes and play tag. But that's okay, because my kids' friends don't have that situation at their houses either. So everyone manages to keep their datebooks full, their mom-chauffeurs busy, and their summers fun.
It is a wonderful thing for kids to have hour after hour, day after day to play with friends.
Summer is good.
P.S. I completely, accidentally forgot an important destination on our "Northern Europe" itinerary. Cornwall! Every trip to Northern Europe should include a stop in the British Isles! That's where we're headed tomorrow.
