Bear bottoms

On David's last day of his SIX-DAY WEEKEND, he had to sit through Mary's dance class. So afterwards, when he wanted to go to the zoo, I was willing. (It helps that our zoo is small and free.)

First, David and Mary headed for this fun play structure.

Then David and Mary were ready to see some animals. We were at the zoo, after all. We visited the reptile house first. Then we walked over to the bears.

We spotted the polar bear first. Well, actually it was just his bottom that we saw.

Then we moved on to the grizzly bear, and we saw his bottom too.

We waited a while to see if anything interesting was going to happen. David collected leaves while we waited.

Hooray! The bear moved. And we got an even better view of his bottom.

Soon there were TWO bear bottoms.

It was very exciting.

So exciting that we soon went home.

(By the way, at one point David stuck his shoe through the railing, and I freaked out. For good reason. You should read about this life lesson. But the life lesson doesn't end there--you should read this then this and the conclusion here.)
